Ron Corbett is a Messianic Rabbi who was ordained to the ministry in 1987 at Baruch HaShem Messianic Congregation in Dallas, Tx. He is a graduate of Christ for the Nations and is currently enrolled in graduate studies toward a Masters Degree from Talbot Theological Seminary at the Feinberg Center for Messianic Jewish Studies in NYC. Ron is also a multi-instrumentalist, song writer and worship leader who believes that it is the calling and commandment of Messiah’s disciples to keep their heart "with all diligence, for out of it flow the issues of life” (Proverbs 4:23)
He was married to Marcia, a strong Jewish Believer who was active by his side in the work of the congregation they planted together in June of 1988 up until her calling to the Kingdom of G-d in June of 2016. While their Congregational worship grows out of a living faith in Yeshua reflecting the spirit-filled life of the New Covenant, it is strongly rooted in the cycle of Jewish Holy Days and feasts which makes possible a continuity of identity for Jewish Believers in Messiah. The common struggles shared by Jewish Believers are lovingly addressed in a Messianic Jewish context where family members are also welcome to "Come and see". It is their prayer that Congregation Shaarei Hashamayim would be a lighthouse to the Jewish community in this entire region. They are under the leadership of Tikkun Ministries International and are committed members of the UMJC. (Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations) Rabbi Ron has recently been installed as the Northeast Regional Director of the UMJC. Rabbi Ron's prayer is to be able to help many to reach Jewish people today with a message of life and hope through Messiah Yeshua.
Rabbi Ron shares teachings from the Scriptures and from Jewish history and practice on subjects relevant to Jewish awareness, sensitivity and effective sharing of the faith as God provides opportunities. His desire is that the Lord would unify, build up and bless the Body of Messiah to the end that they are thoroughly furnished for every good work, especially as it concerns a love for and sensitivity to the Jewish people who have not yet come to fait in the Messiah. As our Messiah Yeshua has said, the harvest in plentiful. And it is the gospel which Rav Shaul (Paul the Apostle) says is, "the power of God unto salvation to all who believe; to the Jew first and also to the Greek."
After an intense period of mourning, God brought another helper to Rabbi Ron and he is now remarried to Alicia Corbett.
